Elaine Darcell States, 53, of Dartmouth, formerly Three Mile Plains, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, a the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with her family by her side. Born on November 3, 1961, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Lillian Alice States and the late Allan Richard States of Three Mile Plains. She was a member of the Windsor Plains United Baptist Church. Besides her mother, she is survived by her sister, Kathy (Rev. Glenn) Gray, Dartmouth; her boyfriend, Dennie Parent, Dartmouth; nephews, Glenn (Natasha) Gray Jr., Truro; Dallas (Kelly) Gray, Burlington, Ont.; Jamall (Jennifer) Gray, Bridgewater; niece, Camille (Brian) Carter, Brampton, Ont. Elaine’s family would like to thank the staff of Clarmar Care, for the great care and concern of Elaine during her residency there. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their compassionate and professional care at all times during her last days. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 8, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Glenn Gray officiated. Interment was held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street.
