It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Earl Tobin announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday, January 09, 2015 surrounded by family and friends, following a very brief illness. He leaves to mourn eleven siblings: Yvonne (David) McCann, Ramona (Bruce Goodwin), Geralda, Lee (Rennie Humber), Andrina (Don) Whiteway, Bernardine, Teresina (Danny) DeYoung, Carl (Annette), Wallace (Debra Smith), Jacquelyn, Hugh (Wendy), special cousin Odilia (Gerald) Hall, a large number of nieces, nephews and numerous loving support staff far too many to mention, but with whom all shared individual personal and loving relationships with Earl for which we will forever be grateful. Earl was predeceased by his parents John and Carmel Tobin and brother-in-law Bill Spurrell. Earl’s journey of life has been one of personal achievements and continual advancements. His impish grin, sense of humour and love of music, dance and food will forever bring fond memories. Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Sunday and Monday January 11th and 12th, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 13th at 10AM at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church on West St., Stephenville with interment to follow at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on Hansen Highway. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations in Earl’s memory may be made to the Association for Community Living or charity of one’s choice.
