Violet Rosborough

ROSBOROUGH, VIOLET ALAMANTHA - Violet Alamantha Rosborough passed away peacefully at her home in Fredericton NB, on January 10, 2015. She spent her last days with her family and friends. She was a very compassionate person. She loved her family and friends very deeply. She had the gift of gab and somehow was able to have complete strangers share their life story or hers, within their very first conversations – she truly had a compassionate, heart. She was born in Southhampton, NB on May 31, 1941 to William and Nina (MacFarlane) Morrison (both deceased). She was the 7th of 11 children, eight girls and three boys. Olah Cronkhite (deceased); Joyce Ellegood (deceased); Ruth Brown, Bear Island, NB; Edith Rae (deceased); Myrna Houle (Jim), Woodstock, NB; Alton Morrison (Marjorie), Lakeville Corner, NB; Avis Durost (Bob), Mars Hills, ME; Robert Morrison (Sharon), Rossville, NB ; Peter Morrison (Barbara), Prince William, NB and Nina Anne Bradley (Ronald), Dumfries, NB. Her parents were hard working and loving parents. We loved to all gather at their house and listen to the story’s that they would tell about the days of them growing up.
They worked very hard on their farm and they had nothing but love and respect for each other.
She married her first husband, Vinal Ernest Hatto (deceased 1960) and had two children. Trudy Ann Roy (Leonard), Moncton, NB and Vinal Todd Hatto (Wendy), Pokiok, NB. She met and married her second husband in 1961, William Douglas Rosborough. They have shared over 53 years of marriage. He welcomed Trudy and Vinal as his own. They added two additional children to the family. Barbara Harris (Warren ”Ted”), Tracy, NB and Peter Douglas (Louise), Moncton, NB.
Violet loved her grandbabies and wanted to keep them protect within her arms. She had eight grandchildren, Kristy Jo Grant (Scott), Moncton, NB; Amanda Wright Hatto (John), Woodstock, NB, and Jenifer Hatto, Waterville, NB; Todd and Bradley Hatto, Pokiok, NB; Jessica Harris, Port Elgin, Ontario; Brittany and Michael Rosborough, Moncton, NB. Seven great grandchildren; Riley, Eric, Evan, Bryden, Kirsten, Destiny, and Zoe.
Violet also had a very strong connection to her sister in law Joan Rae (Clifford), Calgary Alberta. She loved all her nieces, nephews and cousins, enjoying all the times that they were able to spend together.
We were taught strong values and the importance of family, hard work, kindness, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness and love. She was a strong woman, stubborn and kind.
The last several months have been hard on her with the return of cancer and the other illnesses that came with her disease. We know that she is at peace now.
We have lost many family members and friends over the years, especially in the last few, but we can be comforted by the fact that she is in heaven sharing her gift of gab and continuing her legacy.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton, NB on Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 1 - 4 pm. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Violet, the family has suggested to the Red Cross or Extra Mural Program. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
