PICTOU – Frieda Margaret (Wood) Green, age 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 11, 2015 surrounded by family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born April 11, 1932 in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Shepard) Wood.
During her early and working years, she was employed at various places around Pictou. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved a jig, a good game of cards, and a joke. As a pet lover, she will be missed by her beloved cat, Molly.
Frieda is survived by her children: Zelda (Cyril), Wayne (Judy), Charlene (Louis), all of PEI; Maureen (Bert), Sharon (Leonard), both of Pictou; Janice (Jeff), Calgary and John (Karen), Pictou; grandchildren: Misty Lynn, Savannah, Brad, Shelby, Jacki, Mitchell, Derek, Corey, Adena, Christopher, Daniel, Chelsea, Brianna, Colten, and great-grandchildren: Ares, Bauer, Ethan and Leo; brothers, Eric (Chickie) and Barry; sisters: Verna, Rhoda (Clarey) and Donna; mother-in-law, Irene Green.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Vernon and second husband, John.
At Frieda’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday in the Stella Maris Parish Hall, Pictou. Private family burial will follow in Seaview Cemetery.
