PLECKHAM: James Wilbur "Willie" age 77 of Swift Current, SK passed away on January 7,2015.Willie was born in Bromhead, SK on March 21, 1937. The Prayer Service was held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. and the Memorial Mass was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church with Father Richard Jasiak MSF officiating. The organist was Marlene Dolter and the psalmist was Sherman Vetenheimer. The Interment Service will be held at a later date. Willie is survived by his loving wife Thelma; daughters Carol (Mel) Knockaert and their Children Cody and Dalen, Marilyn (Robert) Krause; Step Daughters, Christine, and Valene; brothers Walter (Mary) Pleckham and Floyd Pleckham ; sisters Florence Gilder, Ruth Bradley, and Myrtle (Clarence) McDonnall; brothers and sisters-in-law Frank (Betty) Pribyl, John (Blanda) Pribyl, Verna Dowling, Louise Mackay, Frances (Ken) Badley, Sylvia Pribyl, Edna Pribyl and their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Merlin and Malanda Pleckham; sister Mildred (Ed) Thiry; brothers and sisters-in-law Thelma Pleckham, Campbell Bradley, Hellen Pleckham, Chuck Gilder, Wilfred Pribyl, Robert Pribyl, and Jack Dowling; nephews Donald Badley and Allan Gilder; and niece Dawna Kouri. Willie attended Glen Adelaide and Wawota High Schools. On June 4, 1957 he married Thelma Pribyl in Swift Current. Majority of his career he was a life insurance salesman, but prior to his retirement, he was employed as a bookkeeper for Canadian Propane - I.C.G. Propane. Willie retired in 1997 and enjoyed a quiet life with his family and friends. He was a member of F.O.E. and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was very interested in sports, particularly in football. He also enjoyed curling and baseball. Willie found comfort in his garage with his trucks, tools and projects. He was at peace at home surrounded by his family and friends. He always had a helping hand for those who needed help. He enjoyed a good laugh and had a quick wit with a great sense of humor.
