Blanche Lee Lewis, 99, of Sydney, formerly of Marion Bridge, passed away quietly on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with family at her side.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Wry) Fillmore.
She was an honorary member and past president of the Sydney Curling Club. She was an avid card player and at one time played 45s weekly at the Marion Bridge Senior’s Club.
Blanche is survived by her grandsons, Leland (Lee), Sydney and Lawrence, London, England, and one great-granddaughter, Mary, Toronto.
Blanche was predeceased by her husband Laurence; son, Albert; five sisters and four brothers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will take place Thursday Jan. 15, 2015, in Sydney Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Burrill officiating. Interment in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone, at a later date.
