SCHOFIELD, Marion Isabella - Age 96, of Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, Friday, January 9, 2015 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 20, 1918 she was a daughter of the late Pleamon L. and Mary I. (West) Hutchinson. Marion worked for Lockhartville Post Office for a short period of time, but was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed hymns and church music and was the oldest member and organist for Lockhartville Baptist Church for many years. More recently Marion was the organist at Mt. Denson Baptist Church. A dedicated community supporter and volunteer, Marion was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lucknow Branch No. 109 and the Lockhartville Women’s Institute. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Marion is survived by sons, Donald (Carolyn), Bluff Rd.; James (Linda), Falmouth; Terry (Janet), Windermere; daughter-in-law, Dorothy; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Donald Leo Schofield; son, Robert; daughter, Myrna (Ralph) Singleton; brothers, Emerson (Iona) and Avard; sisters, Evelyn (Arthur) Carey and Avora (Daniel) Pitcher. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation was held Monday, January, 12 from 2-4 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Marion’s life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 13 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Heather Card officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was in Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, Kings Co. Donations in memory of Marion may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
