It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Dianna June Robertson, 68, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney, June was the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Morgan) Lynch.
June was a graduate of Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro and she taught school at Thompson Junior High School, North Sydney for many years, until her retirement. She served as the Clerk of Session at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney for a number of years. June was an avid gardener, she was a former president of the North Sydney Garden Club and a former president of the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs. She enjoyed judging and participating in many garden shows and exhibitions throughout the Atlantic region. She was a palliative care volunteer and also enjoyed being a hockey mom for many years.
She is survived by her husband Dave Robertson, one daughter Kim (Kyle) Murray, Truro and two sons, Glenn (Patty) Robertson, Charlottetown and Paul Robertson, Edmonton; her two grandchildren, Raine Murray and Holly Robertson. She is also survived by her two brothers, Tom Lynch, North Sydney and Robert (Evelyn) Lynch, Gillis Lake.
Visitation for June will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Wesley United Church with Rev. Nancy Ritchie officiating.
