“Together Again”
The family of Lily Stanhope would like to announce her passing on Sunday, January 11th, 2015. Mom is now with the love of her life, Howard. Mom moved to Moose Jaw in 1948, where she worked at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Mom met Howard in 1949, they married in June 1951. Lily is survived by her son, Garry (Lori); daughter, Gayle (Terry); granddaughter, Erin (Garrett); grandson, Kyle (Carly); great-grandchildren, Trey and Lux; brothers, Gord (Jennie) and Les (Pat); sister-in-law, Elsie and Lena; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dot Craik. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Howard; brothers, John and Ed; sisters: Millie, Mini and Mary; brother-in-law, Bill and Art; parents, Carl and Emily Gabel; and parents-in-law, Albert and Mary Stanhope. Mom loved company right to the end. While in her house, she was always ready to feed people and spoil them with sweets. Lily won anyone over as she was a very caring and loving lady. Thank you to Dr. A.J. Van Heerden, the nurses on the first floor of the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, and Chez Nous staff. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Shepherd officiating. A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2015 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Lily’s name may be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Association, Box 58000, Saskatoon, SK S7K 7Y4 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
