NEW GLASGOW – Eleanor Ruth Sharp, age 99 of Trenton Road, New Glasgow, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Anderson) Sharp.
Eleanor was a life long resident of New Glasgow. She was a member of the Christian Brethren who meet at the Gospel Hall, New Glasgow. Eleanor had a passion for cooking, loved to paint in her younger years and was interested in any of the Arts.
She played both violin and piano on many occasions, not only for her own enjoyment, but also for the enjoyment of her many friends. Throughout the long life that God granted Eleanor, she had a strong faith in her Lord and was a shining example to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Eleanor had a great sense of humor and showed a caring interest in all her friends and acquaintances. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are several cousins in British Columbia, Michigan and Wales.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, and sisters Isabella and Daisy.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home for visitation from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral service will be held following the visitation at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Mr. Bill Watson officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Lorne Street Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
