Margaret Globe of Sydney, passed away on Jan. 17, 2015, at the age of 103, at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Kenwood Drive, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Sarah (MacDonald) Weatherbee.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She enjoyed a good game of cards, she was an avid reader and loved to bake.
Margaret is survived by her son Gary (Kay) Globe, Sydney, daughter Sarah(Vic) Carter, Ontario, her grandchildren, Gary (Maureen) Globe, Brian (Patricia) Globe, Dean (Meghan) MacNeil, Greg (Christie) MacNeil, Bernie (Heather) Carter. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Gregory and Emily Globe, Eric and Elizabeth MacNeil, as well as her son-in-law, Joe MacNeil.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest in 1960, daughter, Brenda and grandson, Ernie in 2011, sisters, Emma, Viola, Hazel and Alice.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place as per her request. Private family graveside services will be held at Hardwood Hill Cemetery, at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Hall for his kindness and patience with Margaret and the staff of Harbourstone (Irish Cove) for the excellent care and love given to Margaret over the years.
