Raoul Theriault

THERIAULT, RAOUL PATRICK - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Raoul Patrick Theriault, 65, which occurred peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Raoul was born in Saint John on October 17, 1949 to the late Delia (Doiron) and Richard Theriault. Raoul worked many years as a Laborer at the Saint John Shipyard, and was a valued employee. He was known best to everyone for his lifelong devotion to hockey- both ball and ice- and his loyalty to his teams; particularly the Montreal Canadiens and he was the #1 fan of the Marrtown Baseball team. Raoul was a lover of the outdoors and spent a lot of time fishing and hunting. His brother-in-law and special friend Eddie Cook will fondly remember the years they spent together at the “Cook Camp” on Sand Brook Road. Raoul was a kind and gentle man, who worked tirelessly for the kids. He spent many hours fundraising and helping children, was a Friend of Bill W., and he spearheaded the creation of the Latimore Lake playground. Raoul is survived and will be forever remembered by his loving wife Catherine (Cathy), who he was deeply devoted to, and his only child and best friend, Ian (Melissa). He will always be loved by Papa’s Girl, his granddaughter Madison. She was the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his four brothers; Albenie, Valmont (Helen), Richard (Suzanne), and Walter and his sisters; Doris (Melvin) Oxford and Theresa (Sal) Messina. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by brothers Leonard, Raymond and Roger, and his sister Bertha. Raoul’s family would like to thank all of their amazing friends and family for all the food, donations and the tremendous support you provided during this time.
