After a long hard-fought battle with cancer, Donnie MacKenzie, of Cardigan Garage, age 72, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Kings County Memorial Hospital.
Devoted husband of 45 years to Claire (nee Fogarty), loving father to Kim and Darcy (Patti) and cherished Grampy to Nate, J.D., Brooklyn (Georgia) and Will.
Donnie was born and raised in Cardigan by Marion MacKenzie (nee Nicholson) and the late Norman MacKenzie. Also left to mourn his loss are sisters, Ruth MacDonald, Norma MacNeil and Elaine MacNeil (Howard); brother, Garth MacKenzie; and many nieces and nephews.
Donnie was predeceased by his granddaughter, Georgia; father, Norman; and brother, Bill.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, January 19, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Cardigan. Interment to take place in the church cemetery.
