He also worked for the RM of Miry Creek as a grader operator and at the Coop service station in Abbey. On November 14, 1964 he married Gloria Higginson of Success and started a family, with son Curtis in 1965 and daughter Carla in 1966. Wayne was an active farmer with Gloria, Curtis and grandson Riley, until his passing. He enjoyed life fully and was involved in many sports, hobbies and special interests. He loved skiing with many family ski trips to Whitefish, snowmobiling in Yellowstone, fishing in the lakes north of LaRonge and hunting with family and friends. Curling in men's league and enjoying the bonspiels. He loved to entertain the gang with his guitar, harmonica, singing. Wayne and Gloria enjoyed more than 40 years of camping at Cypress Hills, and many trips to the Kananaskis, and many other parks in Alberta. Spending time in his shop inventing all sorts of "gismos", keeping things organized and everything in its place. Keeping the yard looking nice was always a point of pride. The grandkids loved coming to the farm and spending time with gramps in his shop and riding quads, snowmobiles and the golf cart. He spent lots of time explaining things and teaching them. He instilled in all of us a wonderful work ethic which we will carry on in our everyday lives. His puppy dog "Tasha" was a constant companion for the past 4 years and especially the past year throughout his battle with cancer never leaving his side and even visiting him in the hospital the day before he passed. He lived a great life as a "Farmer". He embraced everyone who came into his life and made many friends. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Thomas (1994) and his mother Betty (2006).
