COOPER, STEWART CLINTON - It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Stewart Clinton Cooper announces his passing on January 17, 2015. Born in Saint John on April, 4 1928, he was a son of the late Stuart Dean and Martha Jane (Hunter) Cooper. Survived by his beloved wife Evelyn Margaret (Gregg) Cooper, daughters Sandra Cooper and Ken Mac Intosh, Karen and Mike Smith and son Ronald and Sherry Cooper; grandchildren Ashley and Matthew Cooper; sisters Gladys Moore and the late Doreen Brueton and several extended family members. Clint loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays and Nascar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and up to a few years ago, spending summers at his trailer at Town and Country in Sussex. He also loved to watch his grandchildren’s sports. He was a true Ford man whose second home was Parkway/Downey Ford. Clint was a very thoughtful, caring and loving person who was always there for others. He treasured and had a strong love for all family, friends and specially his two grandchildren Ashley and Matthew. He valued his 32 year career and his colleagues with Saint John Fire Department, retiring as a District Fire Chief in 1988. Clint was known to his closest friends as Coop or Crash and he always had a friendly joke or story to share. He also was known as the candy man to most and was a great supporter of the S.P.C.A.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. The funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, January 22, 2015 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm followed by a brief time of fellowship in the reception area before going on to Ocean View Memorial Gardens for the interment.
