It is with great sadness that the family of (Evelyn) Ruth Toms (nee Elliott) announce her sudden passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday, January 19, 2015 in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 59 years Don; her sisters: Florence (Jack Troake) and Dorothy (Lloyd Vineham) of Twillingate; brothers-in-law: Lloyd (Georgina), Jim and Ray (Jenny); sister-in-law Eleanor; special friend Mary Corbin; and many relatives and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her cherished son David in 1988, parents Mary and Joseph Elliott, brothers Clayton and Jonas and sister-in-law Gladys Greene. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Andrew Wright officiating. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or Humber United Church, Corner Brook.
