Donald "Duddy" Trenholm

CAPE SPEAR, N.B..– It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Borden “Duddy” Trenholm, 83, on Saturday, January 17th, 2015, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 23rd, 1931 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Lionel T. and Daisy C. (Burns) Trenholm.
Duddy worked in Cape Spear in the woods where he cut logs as well as in saw mills, sawing and carrying lumber. He fished with his father and later on his own and finished his career with Marine Atlantic where he was employed from 1973 until 1996 when he retired. Duddy’s passion was hunting and he was good at it and he loved being in the woods and living close to nature. He also loved listening to bluegrass and old country music.
Duddy leaves to mourn his daughter, Terry Lee MacLelland (Daryl Scallion); sisters, Joan (Ray) Pauley, Ouida Duguay and Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny; brothers, Keith Trenholm and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm; sister-in-law, Jean Trenholm; grandsons, Albert Ceretti, Donald Ceretti (Lisa Arbuckle) and Shawn (Catherine) MacLelland; great-grandsons, Austin Budd and Sebastian Ceretti as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his mom and dad, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Wall) Trenholm; brothers, Vaughn and Dana; brothers-in-law, Abel Duguay and Douglas Wall; sister-in-law, Beatrice Trenholm and by a special friend, Viola Boyce.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Duddy’s wishes, there will not be any visitation. There will be a celebration of his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #81, Cape Tormentine on Saturday, January 24th, 2015, from 2 pm-4 pm and all are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Duddy to the Sackville Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
