One month shy of his 90th birthday. It is with broken hearts, but a lifetime of memories that we say goodbye to our precious Dad. Morley Button passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 with his children and grandchildren surrounding him with love. Predeceased by his wife and our Mom, Marjorie (nee Rose, 1969); daughter-in-law, Lorraine (2003); father and mother, Joseph and Elizabeth; five sisters and three brothers. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts but wonderful memories his children: Gerald (Gloria), Harvey (Chris, whom Dad considered another daughter), Audrey (Edward) and Evelyn (Terry); grandchildren: Colleen (David), Devin (Tehia), Niki (Eric), Ryan (Vivian), Travis (Chantal), Troy (Jackie) and Todd; great-grandchildren: Rachael, Addison, Ashton, Eva, Hayden, Ernesto, Nicholas, Liam, Dallas, Abby and Gracie; his wife of over 30 years, Katie; along with her children: Sylvia, Gord, Phyllis, Elsie, Susan, Kay and their families; sisters-in-law: Annie Squires (Chesley, deceased), Florence Rose (Harold, deceased), Carol Rose (Sam, deceased), Enid Oldford (Roy); brother-in-law, Will Rose (Catherine); as well as an extended circle of family and friends. Resting at Hopkins' Funeral Home, Old Perlican, Friday, January 23, 2015, 2:00pm. to 9:00pm. and Saturday, January 24, 2015, 10:00am. to 9:00pm. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:30pm. from St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Old Perlican. No flowers by request. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Dad's memory to Ronald McDonald House or St. Andrew's By The Sea United Church, Old Perlican. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff of 6 West, St. Clare's for taking such great care of our Dad during his short stay - you are truly angels. Thank you Dad for being both father and mother for all these years and for doing such a great job. We will miss you and love you always Dad - rest well.
