Ann Nemish
April 2, 1927 – January 21, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ann. She passed away peacefully in the hospital on January 21st at the age of 87. Ann was born in a small village in Ukraine on April 2, 1927. She immigrated to Canada with her parents Mike and Mary Hrynenko at the age of one. They settled on a homestead in the Honeymoon District where she grew up and helped raise her siblings. She later moved to Prince Albert where she waitressed. During this time she met the love of her life George. They married in 1946, lived and farmed in the Honeymoon area. They were blessed with 2 children, Sylvia in 1950 and Morris in 1953. In 1956 they moved to Prince Albert where they lived until her passing. Mom continued to work, ending her career at Eaton’s at the age of 65. Then came retirement. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing Kaiser and regular coffee sessions with family and friends. Mom and Dad always attended many sporting events and many other activities that involved their grandchildren. That was priority! Her family and friends meant the world to her. She was a great cook and welcomed everyone to her home and made sure no one went home hungry. Her perogies and cabbage rolls were enjoyed by many, especially her grandchildren. You would often find Mom and Dad working side by side making perogies so that there was always extra to take home. Her greatest joy was watching her family grow and prosper. Mom will be sadly missed, but forever remembered by her loving husband of 68 years George; her children Sylvia (Stan) Mardell and Morris (Paullette); 6 grandchildren Tracy (Joel) Sanden, Trevor (Heidi) Nemish, Brad (Megan) Nemish, Shelley (Brent) Puff and Jeff Nemish; 6 great grandchildren Ty Sanden, Cody and Sadie Nemish, Anna and Sara Nemish and Janae Puff; her sisters Olga Mihilewicz and Marie (Bill) Parasiuk; her brother John (Elaine) Hrynenko; her sister-in-law Pauline Hrynenko and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her brother Andrew Hrynenko; her brother-in-law Edward Mihilewicz and her parents Mike and Mary Hrynenko. We will love and miss you dearly. “Vichnaya Pamiat”. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 305 – 6th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice.
