It is with great sadness, that we the family, regretfully announce the passing of Francie Davidson, of Glace Bay. Francie passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 22, 2015, in the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Euphemia 'Phemie' (Davidson) and the late Francis 'Duffy' Wiseman. Francis was employed with Devco for 32 years, retiring in 1999.
Francis will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Lorraine (Campbell) Davidson; mother Phemie Davidson; daughter, Lisa Davidson, Halifax, son, Jamie Davidson, Halifax; grandchildren, Daniel Davidson and Grace Davidson, both of Dartmouth, and three children who were very special to Francie, Brooke, Breagh and Bryden Kelly. Francie will also be sadly missed by sisters Sharon (William) McDonald, Patricia (David) Feaver, both of Glace Bay, Doreen Wisemen, Reserve Mines; brothers, Jimmie 'Duffy' (Michele) Wiseman, Glace Bay, Robert (Vangie) Wisemen, Alberta; brothers in-law Lenny Campbell, Glace Bay, Charlie Campbell, Dartmouth and Lloyd (Pearl) Campbell, Halifax; sister-in-law June Cyr, Glace Bay; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his father Duffy, Francie was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Arabella and Angus Davidson; brother-in-law, Alfred Cyr;
In honoring Francie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Donald MacDonald officiating. Immediately following the service, all are invited to join with the family for a reception in the funeral home.
Interment will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay.
Family flowers only please.
Memorial donations in Francie’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
