It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Sandy Allen on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (MacAskill) Allen.
His life passion was his music.
Sandy is survived by his wife, Marsha (Pottie), Canso; son, Charles Paul (Marina) Allen, Montreal; sister, Jaqueline (Murdock) Carmichael, North Sydney; brothers, Jim (Viola) Allen, Tarbot, Rev. Kenneth (Jean) Allen, Exeter, Ontario; half brothers, Alpin (Bertha) Allen, Springhill, Lawrence (Garrity) Allen, Inverness; special nephew and friend, Evan MacDonald, Dartmouth and his son, Allister MacDonald, Sydney as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step father, Alex MacRitchie; sisters, Patricia Edwards and Ann Allen.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, North River, from 12-1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Wheeler officiating.
