Lillian Margaret Cann, 95, of Sydney, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015,
at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Somerset-Bath, England, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Jane (McBratney) Ward.
As an infant, Lillian travelled to Sydney, and resided here all her life.
Lillian and husband, Seward were members of St. Andrew's United Church, and enjoyed activities in the Young Couples Club.
She is survived by daughter, Judith E. Grant, Coxheath; brother, Robert, Burlington, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Louise, Marion Bridge; grandchildren, Susan E. Carrigan, Mineville, N.S., Melissa A. Grant (Ken Leblanc), Dartmouth, N.S., Ryan J. Grant, Lucasville, N.S., and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Nickolas Carrigan, Mineville, N.S.
Lillian was predeceased by husband, Seward, son, Wayne, infant sister, Dorothy, and brothers, William 'Bill', Harold, and Donald 'Don'.
Lillian 'Lil' was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her greatest legacy is her family, and she will live on in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, Janu. 30 at 11 a.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating. Interment will occur at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Society, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, SPCA (Cape Breton Branch), Bide Awhile Animal Shelter, Dartmouth, N.S., or a charity of choice.
