Julia Eileen Shank

“Bye for now”
SHANK, JULIA EILEEN
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Shank on January 24, 2015 in her 100th year of life.
Born in Fredericton on January 10, 1916, Eileen began her working career at Kitchen Brothers in the grocery wholesale business and worked there for 17 years. She later worked for the Federal Department of Agriculture and retired from there at the age of 65.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents Douglas “Dode” and Nellie (Cole) Shank and by her brothers Douglas (of Sydney, NS) and W.O. (RCAF) George (who was killed in action during WW2).
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by her friends and next-door neighbours, the Simpson family.
At Eileen's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Eileen’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton and online remembrances may be left at www.mcadamsfh.com.
