The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Sunday, January 25, 2015, of Allan Smith, beloved husband of Wanda Smith (nee Bernard), of Hunter River, aged 87.
Allan was the loving father of Margie Scott (Blair), Earl Smith (Muriel), Garry Smith (Simonne), Janet Jones (Cameron) and Roger Smith (Sherry); much loved Grampy to Lisa Aylward (John), Nevin Scott (Jamie); Michael Smith (Jana), Roxanne Sigsworth (Dave); Michelle Smith, Micah Smith (Jen), Deborah Smith (Joey), Jonathan Smith (Sheri-Lynn) and Bethany Smith; and Sheldon, Anna and James Smith; great-grampy to eleven; and great-great-grampy to one. Allan is also survived by his sister, Jennie Bernard, of Rosewood Residence.
He was predeceased by his parents, George Earl and Margaret Jane (Stewart) Smith; sister, Thelma Axworthy; and grandson, Jody Scott.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at Central Queens United Church, Hunter River, on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Hunter River Presbyterian Cemetery.
