Wolfe, Francis Lamont - 88, of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away on Friday, January 23rd 2015, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, on August 27th, 1926, he was a son of the late Everette Sr. and Annie (Ryer) Wolfe. Francis worked for Bowater Mersey Paper Company for more than 42 years and retired in 1986 as Boss Machine Tender. He served in the Royal Canadian Infantry, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 38, Liverpool and was also a member of the former Queens County Veterans Club. Francis loved his community and was actively involved on many committees and organizations over the years, he was a past member of the Brooklyn Village Commission, Brooklyn Recreation Committee, a director of the Brooklyn Cemetery Committee, a member of the Brooklyn United Baptist Church, he was also an assistant Cub Master and a Commissioner of Oaths for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Freda (Uhlman) Wolfe; sons, Francis Jr. (Karen), of British Columbia, Bruce (Kelly Fisher), of Brooklyn; daughters, Karen (Edward) Dumeah, of White Point, Janice (Donald) Fisher, of Brooklyn, Joyce (Terry) Soper, of Brooklyn; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Doris Woods, of Elliot Lake, Ontario. He was predeceased by sisters, Elsie, Marie, Marguerite; brothers, Kenneth, Ralph, Everette, Heber, Eugene, Stanley and Maurice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2015, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and a Celebration of Francis’s Life will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2015, at 11:00a.m., both From Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool with Reverend Dr. Steven Hopper officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Brooklyn United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
