It is with heartfelt sadness that we the family, announce the passing of our mother Gladys Ruth MacLean, on January 26, 2015 at home.
Born in Sydney Mines , she was the daughter of the late James and Isabel (Foote) Hollett.
Mom work as a RN at the Glace Bay General Hospital until the age of 65. She was also a member of Knox United Church. Mom loved spending time with her family, bowling, playing Bingo and a good game of cards with her friends. The biggest joy of her life was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very kind and generous person who always wanted to give more then to receive.
Surviving are sons Jack (Dale) and Dave (Sadie); grandchildren Glenda, Susanne, Kyle and James; great grandchildren Patrick, Jonathan, Alisair; sisters-in-law Jean (Glen) Roach, and Kaye Dickson.
Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by husband Boyd MacLean; sisters Effie, Marjorie, Dorothy, Jean, Martha and brothers Ted, Robert, Jim and Cecil.
Visitation for the late Gladys MacLean will be held on Thursday January 29 from 7-9 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Friday Jan. 30, 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel.
