It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our awesome husband, father, and grandfather, Major Slade on Jan. 25, 2015.
Born in Newfoundland on Sept. 22, 1932, Major was the son of the late Margaret and Ernest Slade.
Major will be remembered as a friendly, loving and hard-working family man. He spent 40 years in Princess Colliery and Prince Mine. He was also a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved spending time at his trailer with Ruth and Chippy and enjoying time with friends. He kept his loyalty to his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs in spite of their many losses. Many memories of time at the old cabin, Sunday drives, and outside fires will be with us always. He taught us the true meaning of family by showing us unconditional love. We love you.

He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his dearly loved dog, Chippy.
