WHITTAKER, THERESA MARIE
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Theresa Marie Whittaker of Saint John, NB, announce her passing, which occurred peacefully on Monday evening, January 26, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Saint John, NB on June 3, 1941, she was the daughter of Mary and the late Thomas Nelson.
She is survived by her children Kimberley Whittaker (Blaine), Heather Ellingwood (Albert), Paul Whittaker, Melissa Theriault (Ian); grandchildren Leah, Lacey, Levi, Olivia, Madison, David, Anthony; special partner William “Bill” Connell; sister Mary Northrup; niece Tammy Nelson; nephew Brian Northrup and many other family members.
Theresa was predeceased by her father Thomas Nelson, sister Marilyn Gorman, grandson Dylan Boyd; brother-in-law Harry Northrup; nephew Thomas “Tommy” Northrup and special family dog Butch.
Theresa was first employed with Red Rose Tea before beginning a long career at the Loch Lomond Villa, retiring in 2007. Theresa loved spending time with her family, enjoying many family gatherings and outings. She loved to read, listen to music, cooking and baking (her lasagna and date squares were the best!), going to the movies, long country drives and flowers. She enjoyed animals very much and always had a little treat waiting for them to enjoy.
A special thank you to the Staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital for taking care of our Mom, and a special thank you to the Staff of 4B North for the care and compassion you showed our Mom during her stay with you.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). At Theresa’s request there will be no visitation and there will be a private family service.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the SPCA or the charity of one’s choice.
