Glen Dell Scandrett passed away on Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at the age of 86 years, at Chateau St. Michael’s in Moose Jaw, SK. The second of three children, Glen was born on January 13th, 1929 at his grandfather’s farm north of Secretan, to Claude (Bub) and Susie Scandrett. Glen attended Thistledown School until his appreciation and obligation for farming kept him home. Glen knew at a young age that farming was what he loved and spent his entire life on the family farm south of Secretan until the spring of 2014, when due to health reasons, he had to leave his beloved farm. He was predeceased by his parents, Bub and Susie; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Ida Scandrett; sister, Joyce Elliott; niece, Susan Scandrett; nephew, Wallace Scandrett; and great-nephew, Colter Gleim. Glen will forever be lovingly remembered by his great-niece, Celine Hicks (Kurtis) and son Bryce; great-nephew, Jesse Scandrett (Katherine), son Noah and stepson Jace; nephew, Blaine Elliott (Mary), son Cody Elliott (Danielle) and daughter Megan Elliott (Cody); nephew, Barry Elliott; nephew, Warren Scandrett (Lois), daughter Amanda Scandrett and son Aaron Scandrett (Amber); niece, Perri Gleim (Cal) and daughters Nakita Gleim and Savannah Gleim (Warren); and his special friend, May Spark (deceased January 27th, 2015); as well as numerous cousins, friends and neighbours. A Memorial of Glen’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chaplin Community Complex in Chaplin, SK. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at a later date in the Chaplin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert St, Regina, SK S4R 2P6. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
