1936 – 2015
Elmo Johnson, 78 of Bouctouche has passed away peacefully at the CHU Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was married to Noella (LeBlanc) Johnson.
Born in Saint-Louis, he was the son of the late Bélonie and the late Sadie (Babineau) Johnson. Elmo was a very well-known man in the community, he was a volunteer firefighter for the Bouctouche Brigade for 39 years, and loved playing crib with his fellow fireman. He worked as a pipe fitter, a construction labor, on the maintenance team for the town of Bouctouche to name a few. He loved spending time with his family and taking his dog Biscuit for a spin as he called it.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Noella, his three children; Brenda LeBlanc (Roger) of Bouctouche, Mark (Kim) of Ashburnham, Mass and Yvon (Brenda) of Orlean, ON., five grandchildren; Pierre, Sharon, Daniel, Ann, Stéphanie and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Marcus. He also leaves to mourn two sisters; Diana Thibodeau (late Joe) of Saint-Louis, Jeannette Daigle (Clarence) of Aldouane and several nephews and nieces.
Elmo has left us to join his parents and brothers; Edgar, Omer, Adrien, Roger, Adelard, Ronald, Albert, Eric and Roméo.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Church, Bouctouche on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
In Elmo’s memory donations may be made to the family or to the Bouctouche Fire Brigade in lieu of flowers.
