Peacefully passed away in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, St John’s on Thursday, Jan 29th, 2015, Mr. Daniel Gilman Roberts, age 91years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Caroline Roberts; sister, Elizabeth Burton.

Dan, formally from Change Islands and resided on Fogo Island and St John’s, was instrumental with other Fogo Island residents in establishing the Fogo Island Co-operative in the 1960 and 70s. He will be forever remembered by his wife, Grace of 68 years married, daughters, Carolyn (Ford), Susan, Jocelyn (David); sons, David (Elizabeth), Tony (Maxine); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Left with fond memories are his two sisters, Susanne Crummey and Ruth Baxter as well a large circle of family and friends.

At Dan’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation. Family and friends are welcome to visit his wife Grace as she is residing with her daughter Jocelyn (David) Day in Paradise, NL.
