JOYCE GADER WIEBE, age 85, of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away January 17, 2015. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 24, 2015 at The Church of the Open Bible, with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. The ushers were her grandchildren.
The soloist was Bonnie Norton. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Joyce is survived by her husband of 3 years Harry Abram Wiebe annd his familly. She is survived by her children:
BEVERLY Mae (Scott Fraser) and their children: Shawn (Tamara Hinks Fraser) and children Jackson, Alivia, Alexander; Christine(Vincent Duckworth) and children Allison, Jack, Ethan; James (Erica Jantzen Fraser) and children Nathan, Andrew; CALVIN Charles (Gisele Chenard Gader) and their children: Jarrod (Amber Fiset Gader) and children Spencer, Janae; Garnet (Teagan Shaw Gader) and children Jaylynn, Jorie; Jolene (Brant Moen); BRENDA Verna Vermillion and her children: Alayna (Tim Docherty) and children Rayne, Cole, Jake, Brady, Abe; Justin (Jennifer Light Vermillion); KAREN Reddekopp;
TRACY Albert (Grace Fast Gader) and children June, Julaine, Judah, Job, Jireh, Jabez, Jinger. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Wayne (Ute) Gordon, Lorne (Barb) Gordon, Kathy (Randy) Carmichael, Faye (Wayne) Benson, Donna Gordon. She is also survived by Mary Dandy, Fred and Faye Gader, Helen Willatt and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband Albert Ahmed Gader, her parents Alice and Wes Gordon, her grandfather John Lewis Myers, her brother John Gordon and many other cherished family members. Joyce was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan on December 26,1929. Joyce attended the Turkey Track School for five years, while living with her grandfather, John Lewis Myers, on the homestead farm. She lived in several communities and finished her schooling in Saskatoon at which time she received teacher's training. She taught at Turkey Track School and then married Albert. They resided and raised their children in the Vanguard area. After Albert died Joyce moved to Heritage Towers in Swift Current. She lived there until she married Harry Wiebe on November 12, 2011 in Moose Jaw. She moved to the house he lived in until they returned to Heritage Towers. The last few months she resided in The Swift Current Care Center. She felt blessed to be a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce wrote of her deep love for her children and her desire to instill good values that would help them throughout their lives. Joyce was a wonderful cook learning to cook Lebanese foods which her family thoroughly enjoyed.
Joyce enjoyed sewing, painting, drawing, reading and listening to books, walking and growing houseplants. She sold tupperware and did some babysitting. Joyce's faith was the most important aspect of her life, especially as she grew older. She was involved in many Bible study groups. She tried to encourage others with words of encouragement from her own experiences in life and in health. Joyce is sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
