Victor Howe

HOWE, VICTOR “VIC” STANLEY
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vic Howe, on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the age of 85. Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he was the son of the late Albert and Katherine Howe.
Vic will be greatly missed by his son-in-law, Jules Richard; his granddaughters Krista (Dave) Reage and Lori (Jeff) Keirstead; his great grandchildren, Bridget, Nolan, and Ellie; his sisters Vi Watson and Helen Cummine, his brother Gordie Howe, his brother-in-law Neil Clark, his uncle Walter Howe, as well as many close family friends.
In addition to his parents, Vic was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Jacquie (White); his beloved daughter and only child, Vicki (Richard); his sisters, Edna Lainge, Gladys Lyell and Joan Clark; and his brothers, Vern Howe and Norm Howe.
Vic had many friends and acquaintances; it was a rare occasion when he didn’t hear, “Hi, Vic!” as he was out and about town. He always responded with a smile, a chat, and a good laugh. A skilled hockey player, Vic played with the NY Rangers for three seasons between 1951-1955. He enjoyed hockey and skating all his life. Having spent a year in England with his wife, Jacquie, they planted roots in Moncton, NB, where Vic began his 31 year career as a constable for the CNR. An avid golfer in his later years, Vic made the most of his retirement helping Jacquie make stained glass art, camping, spending the occasional winter in Florida diving for conch shells, and enjoying his cherished family and friends to the fullest.
A service to celebrate Vic’s life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Friday, February 6th, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with visitation held an hour prior to the time of service.
The family would like to thank all of their friends and family members for the love, care, and company they provided Vic over these past few months, as well as the caregivers at the Moncton Residence and the medical team at The Moncton Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements and interment entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, (506) 852-3530. The family invites you to send online condolences to www.fairhavenmemorial.ca
