Sackville, N.B.- It is with great sorrow, that the family of Earl G. Sheppard announces his sudden passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, January 29, 2015. Earl was 63 years of age.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on July 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Lillian Ann (Smith) and George William Albert Sheppard.
Earl attended Mount Allison University, graduating in 1996 with a degree in Canadian Geography and later went on to work at various jobs, currently working for Moneris Solutions in Sackville. He was an active Mason and member of Acacia Lodge #8 in Amherst, N.S. and a member of the Cumberland Shrine Club. Earl was a people person and passionate about sports, auto racing and loved the time he could spend on his motorcycle and listening to rock music. He was a great husband and father, was devoted to his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Earl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Pat (Oliver) of Sackville, N.B.; his two sons, William and Robert Sheppard, both of Sackville, N.B.; his brother, Doug (Nicki) Sheppard of Newmarket, Ontario; his sister, Marilyn (John) Blake of Newmarket, Ontario as well as by his nieces and nephews, Aaron, Marley, Melissa, Trevor and Tyler.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-8188). In keeping with Earl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Masonic Service will take place at the Amherst Masonic Temple on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville, on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2 pm with Pastor Tom Barkley officiating. Following the service, all are invited to stay at the funeral home for a time of fellowship and remembrance. The burial will take place at a later date, in the Newmarket Cemetery, Newmarket, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Earl may be made to the Cumberland Shrine Club or to the charity of one’s choice.
