The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, of Marianne Gallant at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Amand Gallant of Le Chez-Nous Ltd. and formerly of St. Chrysostome, she was born in St. Chrysostome on July 5, 1928, daughter of the late Théodore and Denise (nee Arsenault) Gallant. Marianne is survived by her loving children: Eva (John) Muirhead, Clarence (Nicole) Gallant, Gérard (Lucie) Gallant, Nora (Edward) Arsenault, Maria (Floyd) O’Brien, Linda (Yvon) Dérasp, foster son Elmer (Sandy) Gallant and a son-in-law Charlie Arsenault. Will be forever remembered by her brothers and sisters: Joe (Alice) Gallant, Andrée Gallant, Peter (Ruth) Gallant, Martin Gallant, Anthony (Stella) Gallant, Augustin (Dianne) Gallant, Sophie (Sylvain) Richard, Julie Anne Arsenault, Thérèse (Camille) Bonnafant and a sister-in-law Géraldine. She is a cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Marianne is predeceased by her parents, husband, daughter Thelma, brother Arthur and a brother-in-law Archie. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Saturday, Feb. 7, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Marianne’s memory to Le Chez-Nous Ltd. or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. only.
