It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of David 'Shane' Kop, 47 on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at home in Glace Bay.
Born in Barrie, Ont., Shane was the son of Dianne (Smith) Kop and the late Martin Kop.
Shane was in the trucking business, driving 18 Wheeler's for many years. He loved travelling, country music, camping and was known for his good sense of humour. Shane was a family oriented man who loved his children.
Surviving are his wife, Elisha Traboulsee, his children, grandchildren, two sisters, Alison Kop-Gillet, Reserve Mines and Raun Frederickson, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Garry.
Visitation for Shane will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home,16 Reserve St., Glace Bay from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Danny Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Reserve Mines at a later date.
