DeMOLITOR, (Poirier), Muriel Frances. Mom passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the age of 92. Born in Descousse, Richmond County, to the late Henrietta (Doyle) and Benjamin Poirier. She married Louis R. deMolitor in 1941 and moved to Jordan Falls where she brought up her family. Upon the death of her husband, finding it hard to maintain the family home, she moved to Lake Road Apartments, Sandy Point, where she lived for 20 years. Mom loved to bake for the family especially, muffins and her famous chocolate cake, shop at Frenchie`s and enjoyed her car, always a Ford. She was able to live her life the way she wanted, to the end, with the help of her son Earl and family. Mom will be missed by her family: sons, Louis (Nargis); Earl (Elizabeth); daughter, Sharon (Michael) Cushing; sister-in-law, Catheriane Holden; grandchildren, Curtis, Natalie, Nicole, Carla, Shane, Zahra and Rhahim; great grandchildren, Stevi, Samantha, Sidney, Travis, Joshua, and 1 great- great grandchild, Deandre. She was predeceased by husband Louis, son, Gary, sister, Ina Mathala, brothers, Benjamin and Richard Poirier. A graveside service and reception will be held at a later date to celebrate mom’s life. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Donations in Muriel’s name may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
