Léona Collette, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the age of 85.
Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Rose Alice Cormier.
Léona will be greatly missed by her children Dian LeBlanc (Edward), Joanne Johnson (Azor), Gisèle Arseneau (Ron), Robert Collette (Louise), Denise Spencer (Thomas), Monique Collette, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Léona was predeceased by her loving husband Aurele of 57 years, and was the last surviving member of her family.
Léona’s greatest passions were spending time with family and friends at her cottage, camping, fishing with her sister and brother-in-law, playing cards with friends and neighbours, and bringing laughter and joy to all. She is best known for her incessant need to feed her guest.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00pm to 9:00 pm. A memorial service celebrating Léona’s life will be held at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Church on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 am with Fr. Jean Guy Dallaire officiating and special music provided by Larry LeBlanc.
The family would like to recognize Lefurgey resident, Murielle and her staff for the five years Leona spent with them, Staff of The Moncton Hospital, also Special Thanks to Amy and Crystal of the McNair Manor Staff for the loving care they have provided during her final days.
Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
