It is with heavy hearts that we the family of the late Derek Kenneth Marsh, announce his sudden passing on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 in Newfoundland.
Born in Sydney Mines, in 1953, he was the son of the late Kenneth Marsh and Margaret Rigby.
Derek was a resident of Sydney Mines for most of his life. He worked in the Labourers Union, up until his illness. He resided in Newfoundland for the past several years. Derek was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church. He Loved reading, collecting baseball cards and always looked forward to his trips to Cape Breton.
Derek is survived by his wife Marie (McPherson); four brothers, Lewis (Anne) Marsh, David (Karen) Marsh, Chris (Debbie) Marsh and Wayne (Judy) Marsh; three sisters, Valerie (Edward) Russell, Peggy (John) Leroy, Lorna (Paul) McLean, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, the late Kenneth Marsh and Margaret Rigby, father-in-law, Alexander McPherson, one brother Barry Marsh and one nephew Zachary Logan Leroy.
He will be greatly missed by good friends, Gordie Fry, Tommy Penny, Billy Hannerhan, Terry Tremblete and special sister-in-law 'Nan'.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place in Newfoundland.
