Lillian “Sis” Alice States, age 80, of Halifax, formerly of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born on March 6, 1934, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Viola States. Lillian was a domestic housekeeper, she enjoyed bingo, dancing, going to Tim Horton’s and shopping. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Rev. Glenn) Gray, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Glenn Jr. (Natasha), Truro; Camille (Brian) Carter, Brampton, Ontario; Dallas (Kelly) Gray, Burlington, Ontario; Jamall (Jennifer) Gray, Bridgewater; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor “Bing” States, Windsor; Phillip States, Windsor; Dwight States, Windsor; Elroy (Edith) States, Falmouth; many nieces, nephews, brothers–in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her mother, Viola States; her husband of 49 years in 2000, Allan “Cap” Richard States; daughter, Elaine States (2015); sisters, Joan States and Maggie States in infancy; brothers, Lawson States, Marvin States and a brother, Hilton States in infancy. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Thursday, February 12, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Gray officiating. Interment was held in the Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor.
