Sister Velma Robichaud, ndsc, in religion Marie-Adèle, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the convent where she resided following a lengthy illness. She was 83 and in her 65th year of her religious life. Born on November 9, 1931 in Pointe-Sapin, she was the daughter of the late Delphis and Adella (LeBouthillier) Robichaud.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by three sisters: Céline Daigle (Nazaire), Simonne Mazerolle (Antoine) and Zella Layden (John); four brothers: Roger (Eunice), Arcade (Marie), Normand (Véronique) and Prudent; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters: Marguerite and Delphine; one brother, Valmond.
Sister Robichaud will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Friday from 2 to 9 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Friday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 14, 2015 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
