David Rumbles

Born: April 2nd, 1960

Passed on: February 11th, 2015

It is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of my loving husband, David Rumbles, on Wed. Feb. 11, 2015.
Born in Jarrow, England, David was the son of Joan (Derrick) and the late Samuel Rumbles. David is survived by the love of his life, Wendy (Walsh); his sisters, Ann (Steve) Allan, England; Marie Williams (Ian Jordan), England; Kathryn (Phil) Holliday, Australia; brother, Michael (Pauline), Scotland and son Steven Corrigan, England and his many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Paul (Elaine) Rumbles.
David is a Veteran of the British Royal Air Force. When stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador, he met Wendy, moved to Canada, they were married and lived happily here in Sydney, NS for the past 25 years. David was employed as Cage Cashier by Casino, Nova Scotia.
David enjoyed playing cards with the boys, his guitars, riding motorcycles, being with the puppies and spending time with friends. He enjoyed telling a good story but most of all loved to make his friends and family laugh. He and his antics will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.
Visitation will take place at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney on Mon. Feb. 16, 2015 from 6–9 p.m. Services will be held at Chants Funeral Home Tuesday Feb. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bill Burke officiating.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of N.S.
Thank you to our neighbours and friends who were with Dave in his last hours. Thank you to Dr. Myatt, Dr. Sabe De, Dr. Power, Dr. MacDonald, Dr. Gammel, Chaplain Mary Lou, Nurses Jenna, Rob and Sylvia and the Paramedics who didn’t give up.
