We regret to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Jean (Dixon) Jobe, 84, of Brookland Street, Sydney on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Jean passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Jean was born on October 26, 1930, at White Point, Victoria County, Cape Breton. Mom was a beautiful and quiet soul who lived for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Jean is survived by her four children, Don (Carole), Paul (Sue), Stephanie MacCormick (Gary) and Margie. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Ian, Shannon, Lyle, Amanda, Paul 'PJ', Kristy and Nicole and 11 great-grandchildren.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, James; mother and father, Francis and Agnes Dixon; brothers, Jellico, Parnell, Leo, Dan and Archie and one sister, Edna Halloran.
There will be no visitation upon mom’s request. Interment will take place at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness, compassion and care shown to mom. Thank you to the staff at Harbour View Hospital and a huge thank you to Dr. Greg Myatt for the wonderful care you gave our mother.
God bless you mom. You will always be loved and missed by us all.
