Bruce Alexander Porter

Porter, Bruce Alexander – 92. At his home in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, Bruce Alexander Porter passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Bruce served overseas during WW II with the Canadian Armed Forces. He later worked with Duplate Glass and served as a Commissionaire in Ontario. Bruce was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 Truro. Bruce is survived by his son, Larry Porter (Dawn) of London, Ontario and their family Steven (Ana) and Andrea (Jason). He will be dearly missed by his stepdaughters, Pam (Alex) Zahara, Truro, Sylvia Cail (Dave), Bible Hill; also missed by grandchildren, Rosemarie, John, Crystal, Shelley, Amanda, Jennifer; great-grandchildren Pamela, Neil, Victoria, Stephanie, Kelsey, Tyler, Zackery, Donald, Paula, Myles, Mason, Molly, Dillan, Raquel, Evan, Olivia, Ethan, Matthew, Carson, Cameron and Elliot; three siblings also survive, Isabel, Laura and William (Bill). He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth Olive Porter (Watts) in October 2014, and granddaughter, Kelly Stewart, May 2014. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 16th from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service which follows at 2 p.m. all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Dr. David Sutherland officiating. Interment in the spring in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society, Maritime Division or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
