Louise Catherine Dautremont

It is with great sorrow that the family of Louise Catherine Dautremont (nee Van Heukelom) of Prince Albert, announce that she passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Louise was born on April 9, 1921 in Carlyle, Sask. She was the youngest in a family of ten children and the only one born in Canada after her family came from Belgium in 1920. She grew up in the Manor, Saskatchewan area and completed her Grade 10 by correspondence. She married Charles Dautremont on August 8, 1946 and moved to the family farm near Wauchope, Sask. They farmed there together for over 30 years until they returned to Redvers in 1979 and then to Prince Albert in 1983. Louise was very active in the Catholic Church and the CWL, the Ladies of the Royal Purple and the Redvers Music Festival. After retiring, many years were spent enjoying travelling though Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. Louise was an avid gardener and planted gardens right until she moved into the Good Shepherd Villas in 2012. She loved to sew and made many clothes for herself and her daughters. She could bake anything and painted many beautiful landscapes. Louise was predeceased by her husband: Charles in 2008; an infant stillborn son in 1953; by her six brothers: John, Frank, Pete, Arnold, Joe and Louis; and her two sisters: Marie and Annie. She leaves to mourn her passing her son: Allan, her twin daughters: Lorraine (Ron) Johnson and Eileen (Owen) Olsen; four grandchildren: Raina (Mike) Laird, Kristen (Mike) Miller, Michael (Sheila) Olsen and Ian Olsen; three great-grandchildren: Nixon Miller, Cassandra and Mark Olsen; one sister: Jean (Jack) Vreys; her sister-in-law: Alice Van Heukelom; and many nieces and nephews. Prayer Service will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Celebration will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 am. Both services will take place at MacKenzie Chapel, 130 - 9th St. E, Prince Albert, SK.
