Eileen Maxwell

MAXWELL, EILEEN
Eileen would like to let you know her work here is done, and she has gone home to be with the Lord. At 85 years young, she lived life with grace and endeared herself to all those she came in contact with. For those even closer to her she, she was able to generate a special and individual bond while never asking for anything in return. A remarkable woman, wife and mother. She focused on all the good in life and led a large family by example in all she did. Her sudden passing was peaceful at her sons home in Rothesay.
Eileen wants her life to be celebrated and not mourned. She asked for nothing and gave everything daily. She will be missed, and now reunites with friends and family gone before her.
Born in Salisbury, NB, and is formerly of Sackville New Brunswick and Amherst Nova Scotia. She was a daughter of the late Coleman and Maude Spence.
Eileen was all about her family, and treasured each of them. There could never be too many visits or visitors and each summer for 20 years she enjoyed the annual reunion of her children and grandchildren at the summer cottage in Amherst Nova Scotia. Although it is a beautiful place, it was the warmth and love that she effortlessly delivered which made each departure so difficult.
Eileen will be sadly missed by her husband James H. Maxwell, her daughter Debbie Countouris (New Jersey), her sons Jim (Dubai), Jeff and Anne (Mexico) and Jay (Rothesay).
She was predeceased by her son, Jon Garfield Maxwell.
She is survived by her husband, four children, 13 grand children and 23 great grand children and her sister Dorothy Stiles of Barrie, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer society or research of colon cancer would be appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). There will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A graveside service will take place in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring. The family will have a celebration of her life in early July for family and friends.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the funeral home Facebook page.
