It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of our loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, Myles McNeil on Feb. 15, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born and raised in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Neil 'Hush' and Meross McNeil.
Myles was many things to a lot of people. To our family, he was everything.
Myles was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sydney and a proud member of St. Vincent de Paul, New Waterford. He worked 43 years for Devco. He first started working in the No. 12 colliery and then moved onto Lingan. After his time in the mines, he then started working as security at Devco, where he would work until retirement.
Myles leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Sharon (Bisson); sons, Trevor (Gail), Leonard (Cheryl); daughters, Alishia (Cameron) Grant, Ontario, Joanne, Raylene, both of New Waterford; grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Matthew, Brittany, Tiffany and Lisa. He is also survived by his brothers, Raymond, Melvin, Joe, Peter; sisters, Diane, Rea and Rosina (John) Doyle.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by daughters, Sharon Marie and Lynn, brothers, Malcolm and Eddy.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the McLellan Brothers Chapel with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating followed by a luncheon at the KOC Hall, Plummer Avenue. Burial will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
Donations in Myles’s memory can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
