Cedric Holland

Holland, Cedric, 97, Truro, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with his family by his side. Born in Lunenburg he was the only son of the late James S. and Edith (Morash) Holland. Cedric was employed as a bank manager with the Royal Bank for forty two years. He served as manager at a number of locations including Whycocomagh, Stewiacke, Wallace, Debert and Bedford. His interests involved fitness activities such as biking, exercising and swimming. Cedric also enjoyed his time spent singing with various groups such as the Dr. Lewis Murray Group from Shubenacadie, the Legion Lyrics and several church groups. He was also a fifty year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro. Cedric is survived by his sons, James (Barbara), Shortt’s Lake, their children, Krista and Brette; Doug (Jill), children, Ashley and Cody, Coldbrook; Robert, Kentville, children James and Samuel; and John (Cheryl), Coldbrook, children Heidi, Michael and Stacy. Cedric was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (McIntosh), his second wife, Marie (Hartigan); sister, Peggy (Ernie) Cook. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18th beginning with a Royal Canadian Legion Br.#26 Tribute service at 5:45 p.m.; visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 2 p.m. also in Colchester Community Funeral Home, with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 Building Fund or the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation.
