It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Edward Tucker of Long Pond. Surrounded by loved ones, Charlie passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the age of 78 years. An avid fisherman, hunter and berry picker, Charlie passed his love of nature and his passion for the outdoors on to his children, grandchildren, and extended family. Charlie rarely missed a day in the 53 years he worked at R. A. Templetons in Downtown, St. John's and over the years became a well known local personality and paint expert. He loved dancing with his wife, bowling, darts and was a former member of the NLCA and a regular participant in their annual curling bonspiel. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Lillian, his brother Bernard and sister Doreen, Charlie is survived by his wife of 56 years Irma, their four children Cindy (Robert Pike), Roger (Debbie), Donald (Ginger), and Darren (Lori), sister Marilyn (Noel Lundrigan) and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Wednesday, February 18th,2015 from 7-9 pm, Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 2 pm from All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap. Donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer's Society.
