RICHARD, JOSEPH
1918 - 2015
Joseph Richard, 96, of Veterans’ Health Center, Moncton, NB, formerly of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Sunday, February 15th, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Cleophas and the late Emma (née: Maillet) Richard.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Richard worked for the Federal Government Public Works Department. He was a WW II army veteran; a member of the Dieppe Veterans Association, Club d’Age d’Or of Dieppe and Sainte-Thérèse parish.
He is survived by six daughters: Jeannine (Ronald) Daigle of Cormier Village, Delta Richard of Moncton, Annette (Guy) Landry of Dieppe, Claudine (Bruce) Hanley of Moncton, Noella (Blaine) Ramsey of Quispamsis and Audette (Jeff) Eagles of Bouctouche; five sons: Regis (late Heather) of Notre-Dame, Emery (Laura) of Dieppe, Ovila (Linda) of Owen Sound, ON, Adrien of Montreal, QC and Gerard (Gloria) of Moncton; two sisters: Marie (Auguste) Girouard of Moncton and Marguerite (late Gerry) Roy of Brampton, ON; one brother, Reginald (Rose-Mae) of Hartford, CT; two sisters-in-law: Marianna and Thérèse; 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Renay, Joseph, Nathalie, Michel, Mathieu, Tabatha, Luke, Nicholas, Jacques, Christine and Joey; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Aurelie (née: Robichaud) in 1980; one daughter, Francine; two sisters: Laurette and Freda; five brothers: Albert, Alonzo, Emile, Aquilla and Edouard and also by three grandchildren: Adam, Melanie and Gerry.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm ONLY. The Dieppe Veterans will have a prayer service at 3:45 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe NB.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation “Oncology” would be appreciated by the family.
